Camp near 4 Mile Creek (at Niagara) May l0,1813 My Dear Wife, I wrote you one letter dated at Sackets Harbour and one dated at little york upper Canada in which I directed you not to write me and one I wrote my Brother Andrew directed him the same. 2 of these letters were wrote after the engagement. I gave my brother as accurate account of the Engagement as I could. You will please tell him that it is my request he should send brother William a copy of it at my request. Poor Hazletine died of his wounds 9 or 10 days after the Engagement. As we have all returned to the American shore again and expect to remain here 3 or 4 weeks, you will please direct your letters to Niagara and inform those who will please write me to direct them in the same manner. I am very unwell today with the |
